Alright friends, I am officially here to sing the praises of planning your individual outfits 30 days in advance. Does that seem weird? I don’t care. It has been completely freeing to not have to think about what to wear each morning. I’m doing this every month for the rest of my life.
For any interested parties - I’m still out here posting outfits and having a lot of feelings. My latest experiment (because I am not a peace if I am not conducting a wardrobe experiment) is that I’m only wearing 19 items of clothing until April.

Welcome to Goblin Shark, a blog that has nothing to do with a weird looking shark and everything to do with my feelings about getting dressed.
Here’s a little bit about me: I’m a 26 year-old woman living in Washington, DC. I work for a higher education non-profit in a typical DC office. Until recently, my wardrobe has been an anxiety-inducing collection of cheap, ill-fitting jersey pieces from fast-fashion retailers. I bought a lot of clothes, but I never looked good.
One day, I stumbled upon the concept of a capsule wardrobe - the art of living with a small, intentional wardrobe and investing in well-made, classic pieces that won’t go out of style or die in the washing machine after two months. I was immediately hooked. That was a year ago, and now I’m proud to say that while I don’t have a perfectly curated capsule wardrobe, I do have a small, intentional wardrobe full of clothes that I love, and I’m equipped with a much better idea of how and what to purchase going forward.
Capsuling is an ongoing process for me now - choosing well and buying less. This is a blog for me to talk about that journey and for you to follow along with me.
Here’s what I’ve been wearing lately:

Happy Valentine’s Day from the Titanosaur! With a heart approximately 6 feet in circumference, this dinosaur has a lot of love to give. This sauropod’s heart likely weighed about 500 lbs (230 kg), as much as 3 grown men, and could shift 90 liters of blood with a single beat, of which there was one every 5 seconds.
Never felt like more of a grownup than when I got a letter that reminded me that I have actually been contributing to my retirement fund over the last year and that there is now a bunch of $$ in there.
